Desde el Movimiento de Mujeres y Diversidades Indígenas por el Buen Vivir repudiamos y convocamos a rechazar categóricamente las prácticas misóginas, racistas, y sexistas, como lo es el Festival Trichaco y todo lo que implica.

Desde hace años que denunciamos las formas en que el sistema patriarcal, racista y colonial opera en Argentina con complicidad estatal y social, haciendo invisibles las prácticas de chineo, trata y abuso sexual que son recurrentes en el Norte del país sobre nosotras y nuestras niñeces.

Este año, la campaña por el 18vo. Festival del Trichaco a realizarse del 14 al 17 de julio deja al descubierto cómo se fomentan y estimulan esas prácticas, usando fotos de jóvenes mujeres indígenas de otro país, como parte de los “bienes culturales” a consumir durante el evento.
Este “festival” en la frontera de Paraguay, Argentina y Bolivia cuenta con la complicidad de artistas como su creador, el Chaqueño Palavecino, y funcionarios del estado provincial como el empleado del Ministerio de Educación de la Provincia de Salta, Omar ’’Bigote’’ Cuellar. Pero peor aún, son cómplices los asistentes que, al participar, admiten las prácticas machistas que convierten a las mujeres indígenas en objetos sexuales que pueden ser usados.

Aceptar impunemente que nuestras cuerpas sean usadas con fines publicitarios es también invitar a plena luz del día que se nos muestre como algo disponible para la diversión perversa de quienes se creen con derecho a hacerlo simplemente porque somos niñas y mujeres y diversidades indígenas. Es habilitar a que los varones se sientan habilitados a “cazar” niñas y jóvenes para violarlas, que es lo que en algunas partes del país se conoce como "salir a chinear", esto es, el chineo. Y hablamos de chineo porque no se puede desnaturalizar una práctica silenciada e histórica, si no se la llama por el nombre con que se la conoce y se reproduce.

Salir a chinear no es una simple violación en manada, hecho de por sí infame. Es un crimen político porque tiene un fundamento racista y colonial que es posible porque se nos roba toda dignidad, así como cotidianamente se nos sigue robando el derecho a nuestros territorios, a la alimentación, a viviendas dignas, a trabajos seguros, y el derecho de acceder a la justicia. Es un crimen del cual el Estado colonial y genocida debe hacerse responsable por las atrocidades que nos trajo, al tratarnos históricamente como la barbarie y como trofeos. En este caso, el crimen se agrava porque se lo ha transformado, además, en un caso de trata con fines de explotación sexual y todo ello, en el marco de este supuesto "festival" folclórico en el cual, la fama de sus músicos, en particular de organizador, favorece su total impunidad.

Por eso, esta vez no sólo denunciamos y repudiamos estas prácticas, como lo venimos haciendo. Celebramos que otros movimientos se hayan pronunciado en esta dirección y convocamos a todas las personas y sectores que sientan vergüenza e indignación por las distintas formas en que nuestros pueblos y naciones, y con ellos nosotras, nuestras niñas y diversidades, somos cotidianamente violentades, a que expresen con nosotras su repulsión por estas prácticas y su determinación para sumarse a nuestra lucha para abolir el chineo, y cualquier forma de trata y abuso sexual.
