because reporting the ad is a very difficult process and often does not result in anything being done but if we put our effort into making better advertisements than traffickers make, people will respond to our advertisements and they won't be tempted by the traffickers advertisements at all
Forwarded from Max Morris
This is part of what we mean when we are talking about making changes in our environments that stop trafficking because people are only in danger of being trafficked because the resources aren't being offered to them with greatest kindness and respect
Forwarded from Max Morris
As soon as we are offering great kindness and respect through the same kinds of advertisements traffickers are making, trafficers can't make use of those pathways because people don't take the bait when they have something better available
Forwarded from Max Morris
This is also why we have so many regional efforts across IPR and RPI
Forwarded from Max Morris
Every Outpost we can create digital or physical reduces trafficking in that location immediately and can eliminate it if we have help from able-bodied

β’ To get off Social Security Disability and sustain myself with no government support.
β’ Fund a Coalition of Psychiatric Survivors in a class action lawsuit.
β’ Research and create a medication-free Emergency Peer Respite (Van Gogh Hospital) to be centrally located within the United States in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, on the shores of the largest freshwater lake in the world, Lake Superior.
24 hour respite would include detoxifying saunas (Finnish tradition), nutrition program, light therapy, meditation training, art therapy, nature exploration of the UP, Open Dialogue therapy, and EMDR.
Short-term 2 week stays would be ideal. The goal would be to give immediate groundedness to a client in emotional/spiritual/mental crisis. Then to provide them with as many tools as possible to go forward and use their own strengths to persevere and rebalance. Disabling a person takes away their autonomy; we want people to feel solid in their independence and own authority.

Author above, I wish to relay message to Jill. Land in Wisconsin near Michigan border and that part of Michigan is rather cheap, comparatively.
I have been theoretically scouting that area.
If Jill is there, or could get there and at least 1 environmentally ill person could get there, they could check land parcels in person that I sent them, and then we could pick one with an owner financing option so the down payment is smaller and then a monthly cost, much easier to fundraise

Very interested to facilitate more of this dialogue. Really important. Really glad for more this conversation. @IntuitiveSocialCenters chat could be wonderful place to compile land ideas in Wisconsin near Michigan border and the part of Michigan that would be most possible. Protect Indigenous Women

Episode: https://pdcn.co/e/www.buzzsprout.com/262196/8465977-protect-indigenous-women.mp3
https://allmyrelationspodcast.com
Since the onset of colonization Indigenous women have experienced violence with reckless abandon, today it is a public health emergency. Traditionally, many of our Native societies are matrilineal but settler colonialism has disrupted our traditional value systems. These shifts have tragically contributed to the epidemic of violence we see committed against our women and Two Spirit relations. The issue is systemic and this episode discusses how we must hold systems and people accountable. Mary Kathryn Nagle (Cherokee) is a playwright and lawyer with Pipestem Law, a firm dedicated to legal advocacy for the safety of Native women and tribal sovereignty. She represents families of victims and has testified before Congress for the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). Her perspective on the legal issues regarding MMIW expounds how tribal sovereignty and jurisdiction is so important in combatting the crisis. She also explains how political participation and allyship is necessary to fight subversive systems which propagate violence. Abigail Echohawk (Pawnee) is Director of the Urban Indian Health Institute and a leader in the movement to bring visibility to MMIW through political advocacy work, data, and research. Her organization conducted a seminal report on the crisis to better understand the prevalence of the crisis which has harmed our relations for 500 years. This episode is raw, real, and heart wrenching. The crisis must be addressed and we need allies to join us in making it visible so we can all take action. We need to hold non-Natives upholding these systems accountable. Further, we need Natives to step into roles of political power to demand change. Every statistic represents a Native woman. We must honor and protect our sisters. No more stolen sisters. Links and Resources

Kaysera Stops Pretty Places was 18 years old and a member of the Crow Nation. She disappeared in Hardin, Montana in August of 2019. Five days later, she was found deceased under suspicious circumstances. Her death was classified as βsuspicious,β however, there has been no investigation into what really happened to her, or who could have done this. The people she was last known to be with were not questioned, the homeowner of the house where she was found was not questioned, not even the jogger who discovered her body was questioned. Kayseraβs own family was never approached or interviewed about her disappearance or death, and her family has had to make a tremendous effort to communicate with authorities. They have found it extremely difficult to even get anyone to speak with them about Kayseraβs case. Investigating authorities have perpetrated numerous ethical violations and continuously enabled one another in doing so.
