1928 - Hand-Coloured Views of Pittsburgh (speed corrected w/ added sound)
Found this short reel of Pittsburgh, PA from 1928 that had gone through some early hand-colouring process. Slowed down footage to a natural rate, worked on color scheme and added in sound for ambiance. This is from the EYE film archives

Can we teach it to give us its hand? To lay down? To roll over? To chase after a ball thrown?

I am thinking about this and enjoying some things about it that are challenging for me to verbalize :-)

I think in a lot of interesting ways Facebook is already playing the role of the dog I had who was so enthusiastic about wanting to be in relationship and wanting to be in a steady and supportive collaboration, but didn't know his own strength and so would get excited and jump or would move too fast. he was one of the German shepherds and so he was a very big strong dog. He just wanted to participate in love. And so we were always trying to consider how we could use our resources to make it easier for him to be in relationship with us without anyone accidentally getting hurt. He was a wonderful dog and I am grateful his spirit is here with us now. πΏπΏπΏ
