The three Vampyre creatures illustrated on the wheel represent the forces which keep the wheel in motion. At the right is a half Panther Vampyre which represents the positive force - this is the active and creative energy which initiates the fire of life (summer). To the left we see a Serpent Vampyre, who is the negative force of retrospection and dissipation or decay (Winter). At the top we see a sphinx like creature made up of the four elemental animals - its role is the preserver that connects the other polarities; allowing their momentum to spin the wheel and churn out everything into existence. The eight spokes represent the stations of the year. The four elements are represented by the coloured gems - air at the top and earth at the base, with fire (red) and water (green) at right and left. The white gem of spirit is at the centre, while surrounding the wheel are roses of corresponding colours.
