' Dear friends,
I could not be more moved, more touched, more filled in my heart from being with so many of you today on Zoom (about 850 of you from around the world) to honor and celebrate Arny and his amazing and generous life and spirit.
It felt so important to come together at this moment --to share our grief, to feel our deep love and gratitude to Arny for the innumerable gifts he has given to each of us and our world, and to sing and woof and join his spontaneous playful spirit! I can sense that he was deeply moved by everyone and glad to remind all of us to continue our learning and research to help make a better world. Thank you so much for carrying his teachings and legacy forward each in your own way. I'm also touched by your love and embrace of both of us.
Many thanks to the wonderful PWI tech team, generous translation team, touching speakers, and all my friends who have supported me.
Today is Arny and my anniversary - our 36th official year together and 39th year as a whole. Below is a photo of a little gift we got for ourselves 3 years ago on our anniversary. Now, I want to share that gift with all of you “Beautiful Dreamers”. <3
With all my love to everyone, amy
p.s. I very much look forward to being with many of you in person tomorrow here in Yachats on the beach and at the Lion's Club to continue to honor and celebrate him. '

How do you get people to care about making changes that don't directly benefit them?
How do you help people care about things that do not directly impact them? Charles Eisenstein explains that the worldview of what does, or does not, directly impact us is generally too narrow. Approaching people with a spirit of generosity is the best way…

“When you plant lettuce, if it does not grow well, you don't blame the lettuce. You look for reasons it is not doing well.
It may need fertilizer, or more water, or less sun. You never blame the lettuce.
Yet if we have problems with our friends or family, we blame the other person.
But if we know how to take care of them, they will grow well, like the lettuce.
Blaming has no positive effect at all, nor does trying to persuade using reason
and argument.
That is my experience. No blame, no reasoning, no argument, just understanding. If you understand, and you show that you understand, you can love, and the situation will change."

' A key aspect of the original “Open Space Technology” method/process is that there are a few criteria that, when met, assure a high-performing and productive process and meaningful outcomes. They are:
1. A real “burning issue” that inspires passion and responsibility. A compelling theme (hook, melody, beat).
2. A high degree of complexity. No single “answer”.
3. A high degree of diversity (viewpoint, experience, ethnicity, whatever) among participants.
4. The likelihood of conflict.
5. A deadline of yesterday.
These are guidelines for maximum productivity and outcomes. If some of the criteria are missing, the process is still highly useful and effective. '
