The Anglo-Saxons knew Saturday as SΓ¦terdΓ¦g β giving us the name SΓ¦tere β a god some equate with the Norse Loki. The Anglo-Saxons also used the name SΓ¦terndΓ¦g as well β Saturn's day. There's been much debate over who SΓ¦tere is- is he Saturn, another name for Loki (perhaps Loki is Saturn), Krodos or a god in his own right? If we look at wider Germanic names for Saturday a similar pattern forms; Even in Ario-Hindu the name for Saturday is ShanivΔra meaning Saturn's Day. It's has also been suggested that SΓ¦tere is an agricultural god β the word saeter in old Norse meant a pasture or dairy land. The name also meant 'the setting sun'. But the Germanic folk also had anther name for Saturday β Sun's Eve. This appeared in Old English as sunnanΓ¦fen β a name that removes the invocation of Saturn and Loki altogether!

Happy Samhain and All Hallows Eve from us at The Wild Folk. Here in Scotland it was traditional to carve out neeps (turnips) in order to provide an illumination to ward off evil spirits at a time in the spiritual calendar when the borders between the lands of the living and dead become perforated.
Carving a turnip is not hard and most stores should sell them. It does however require a bit of hand graft. Cut off a lid, hollow it out by cross hatching the flesh with a knife and scooping with a spoon (keep the neepflesh for a soup or fritters). Then place a candle inside, position it outside your house or in a window sill. It is also customary to leave a saucer of milk or cream for passing benevolent spirits.

About this event
We invite you to join nationally-recognized social justice educator and EFT trainer Victor Lee Lewis along with special guests for this transformational 5-hour workshop.
Together we will focus on learning and exploring how EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) can be used specifically for topics of Human Liberation, Social Justice, and Community Care.
As we learn tools and frameworks to support community health (beyond the common "personal health" paradigms), together our bandwidth grows. This supports us in engaging with the complex challenges of late-stage capitalism, structural and interpersonal and internalized oppression, and the trances of seperation and supremacy.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) incorporates tapping select points from the Meridian system of Traditional Chinese Medicine (acupoints), additional somatic techniques, and strategic words for a combined effect that is transformative, liberatory, and able to support many of the complexities we face when engaging in change work and community care.
Context around the history and use of EFT will be shared as part of this liberation-focused workshop.
We welcome those new to EFT along with advanced practitioners seeking to apply EFT to the intersections described here. If you are interested in this topic and/or are already a big fan of Victor, you are in the right place.
This introductory workshop teaches people to use the EFT tool for a variety of circumstances, all within liberation-based frameworks. Victor's workshops typically include demonstration and community practices on using EFT for a variety of topics and challenges, inviting in ways of being and knowing that we perhaps didn't know were possible.
Victor exclusively offers workshops, trainings, consultation, mentorship, and coaching through the gift economy or tiered pricing models.
