"in 1672, a mob of angry Dutch killed and ate their prime minister. Options. Just sayin'."
I ran across this and there is something about the angle of the humor that has stuck in my brain. I wasn't going to bring it here, and then it was like I couldn't help myself. Could I help myself? That is an interesting question. Here is some interestingly angled humor on what we know is ongoing terrible violence. I'm very interested in more conversation about this. --@maxmorris
PS - I mean not because I want to eat any prime ministers. But there's something else about it. I thought I'd clarify that part :-)
PPS - I think something about it for me is how people or populations have radical responses after long periods of time of insufficient responses, and what that energy pattern is about. I'm also thinking about the conversations and intuitive edible
i said etymology but it wrote intuitive edible which I think is hilarious
In intuitive etymology about patterns of forms, movements, and meanings
Certainly there are consequences for humans choosing to eat one another
And also other kinds of consequences to missing or forestalling one's survival reflex until ones response to ongoing violence is extreme in such a way
I think that's the part I especially want to dwell on for a while in conversation and maybe actually never stop talking about it, it seems like a really good subject intersection
Additional notes from more recent conversations: There have been more great discussions about this kind of thing recently. There are diverse ideas and reflections that have been offered about it and they have been so valuable to us. We are posting it again so that we can talk about it more in a public space in addition to the less public spaces we've been talking about it.

Steamed beech mushrooms and shiitake mushrooms with steamed broccolini and red tomato...

...with buckwheat crepes...

...and a duck egg cooked in a skillet with farm butter...

...then cinnamon, fresh raw crushed fermented garlic, and a little bit of Jamaican seasoning.

Red leaf lettuce, red dandelion greens, fresh mint leaves, yellow bell pepper, apple cider vinegar, olive oil.

This salad, especially with the mint and apple cider vinegar and yellow bell pepper, tastes rich and sweet like oranges.
