“Territorio: nuestro cuerpo, nuestro espíritu” Declaración en apoyo y solidaridad con las comunidades de la Amazonía

Nosotras: mujeres, lesbianas, travestis, trans, indígenas, campesinas, indias, mujeres negras, afrodescendientes, comunitarias, villeras, urbanas, trabajadoras, latinoamericanas y del mundo, nos unimos para repudiar el incendio genocida de la Amazonía en Brasil.

La Amazonia es la entraña latiente de la vida misma —que tiene millones de formas pero es una sola— órgano vital del mundo: es el lugar donde una fuerza del cosmos, la luz del sol, es transformada en buena parte del aire que respiramos casi todas las formas de la vida en el planeta. La Amazonia es el lugar en el que los minerales se hacen tierra y la tierra se sostiene gracias a las redes que tejen sus árboles centenarios en su mismo seno que borbotea de seres grandes y pequeños junto a los ríos. La Amazonia es el lugar donde los ríos brotan de fuentes que hace millones de años yacen bajo kilómetros de rocas y le dan la humedad que lo vivo necesita para vivir a la tierra y los árboles y a sus miles, millones de animales y plantas. La Amazonia es el lugar en el que la vida se hace a sí misma y nos hace a nosotros con su aire, su humedad, con su regulación de los climas. La Amazonia es el hogar, la fuente de vida de cientos de pueblos indígenas que, a su vez, la protegen de la depredación del capital, de los capitalistas, los pueblos que protegen el agua de hoy y del futuro, los alimentos que muchxs de nosotrxs comemos.

La Amazonia y sus habitantes son la resistencia ancestral a la imbecilidad humana, al antropocentrismo criminal que gira alrededor de, por supuesto, el universal masculino. La Amazonia está siendo exterminada por la acción directa del capitalismo extractivista.

No aceptamos la violencia ni las muertes a las que están siendo sometidas las compañeras indígenas y las comunidades que por siglos han vivido en cuidado recíproco con la selva y con todos los seres no humanos que habitan en ella.

Nosotras: mujeres, lesbianas, travestis, trans, indígenas, campesinas, indias, mujeres negras, afrodescendientes, comunitarias, villeras, urbanas, trabajadoras, latinoamericanas y del mundo agradecemos y apoyamos las luchas de las amazónicas de más de 130 pueblos que salieron en la Primera Marcha de Mujeres Indígenas de Brasil para denunciar el aumento de la deforestación de la Amazonía en un 67% desde la llegada del gobierno terrorista-extractivista-patriarcal de Bolsonaro. Con el lema “Territorio: nuestro cuerpo, nuestro espíritu”, la marcha denunció la urgencia del cuidado de lo viviente, de los bosques y del agua, y exigió el cese de la violencia machista y racista contra ellas y les niñes.

La Primera Marcha de Mujeres Indígenas da cuenta de un nuevo tipo de lucha por el territorio entendido también como el planeta que habitamos y contra las causas capitalistas-extractivistas-patriarcales del cambio climático. Hemos visto también la fuerza de la Marcha de las Margaritas, que unos días antes, reunió a trabajadoras rurales, de la floresta y de las aguas de todos los estados brasileños.

Nosotras, estos cuerpos feminizados que somos, rechazamos la violencia y el exterminio colonial de lo existente y agradecemos a nuestras hermanas amazónicas y campesinas porque su lucha es nuestra lucha.

Sabemos que los empresarios, los fazendeiros y sus agentes provocaron el incendio. Buscan desforestar la selva y desplazar comunidades para extender la frontera agrícola y ganadera y favorecer la acumulación extractivista y genocida del agronegocio. Entendemos que se trata de una forma de disciplinamiento atroz, una respuesta desaforada a la energía que logró avivar y levantar en todo el mundo la marcha de las mujeres indígenas, guardianas de la selva y de las formas de existencia insurrectas que alberga.

“Cuando defendemos nuestros territorios, nuestros cuerpos y nuestros espíritus, también estamos defendiendo la vida de los demás pueblos que habitan este planeta”. Así dijeron también varias

de las mujeres que caminaron por las calles de Brasilia con sus hijxs: “es en la vida comunal que se puede sostener una vida digna”. Con ellas y por todxs, convocamos a las organizaciones feministas del mundo a manifestarse y a exigir que se tomen las medidas necesarias para detener el incendio.

“Territory: our body, our spirit” Declaration in support and solidarity with the communities of the Amazon

We: women, lesbians, transvestites, trans, indigenous, peasant, Indian, black women, Afro-descendants, community, villeras, urban, working, Latin American and the world, come together to repudiate the genocidal fire of the Amazon in Brazil.

The Amazon is the beating heart of life itself - which has millions of forms but is only one - vital organ of the world: it is the place where a force of the cosmos, the sunlight, is transformed into much of the air we breathe almost All forms of life on the planet. The Amazon is the place where the minerals are made earth and the earth is supported thanks to the networks that weave its centenary trees in its very bosom that bubbles large and small beings along the rivers. The Amazon is the place where rivers sprout from sources that millions of years ago lie beneath kilometers of rocks and give them the moisture that they need to live the earth and trees and their thousands, millions of animals and plants. The Amazon is the place where life makes itself and makes us with its air, its humidity, with its regulation of climates. The Amazon is the home, the source of life for hundreds of indigenous peoples who, in turn, protect it from the depredation of capital, of the capitalists, the peoples that protect the water of today and of the future, the food that many of We eat.

The Amazon and its inhabitants are the ancestral resistance to human imbecility, to the criminal anthropocentrism that revolves around, of course, the masculine universal. The Amazon is being exterminated by the direct action of extractivist capitalism.

We do not accept the violence or the deaths to which the indigenous companions are being subjected and the communities that have lived for centuries in mutual care with the jungle and with all the non-human beings that inhabit it.

We: women, lesbians, transvestites, trans, indigenous, peasant, Indian, black women, Afro-descendants, community, villeras, urban, working, Latin American and the world are grateful and support the struggles of the Amazonians of more than 130 peoples who left in the First March of Indigenous Women of Brazil to denounce the increase in deforestation in the Amazon by 67% since the arrival of the terrorist-extractivist-patriarchal government of Bolsonaro. With the motto “Territory: our body, our spirit”, the march denounced the urgency of the care of the living, of the forests and of the water, and demanded the cessation of sexist and racist violence against them and children.

The First March of Indigenous Women gives an account of a new type of struggle for the territory, also understood as the planet we inhabit and against the capitalist-extractivist-patriarchal causes of climate change. We have also seen the strength of the Margaritas March, which a few days before, brought together rural workers, the forest and the waters of all Brazilian states.

We, these feminized bodies that we are, reject violence and the colonial extermination of what exists and we thank our Amazonian and peasant sisters because their struggle is our struggle.

We know that businessmen, fazendeiros and their agents caused the fire. They seek to deforest the forest and displace communities to extend the agricultural and livestock frontier and favor the extractivist and genocidal accumulation of agribusiness. We understand that it is a form of atrocious discipline, an unbridled response to the energy that managed to enliven and lift throughout the world the march of indigenous women, guardians of the jungle and the insurgent forms of existence it houses.

"When we defend our territories, our bodies and our spirits, we are also defending the lives of the other peoples that inhabit this planet." So said several

of the women who walked the streets of Brasilia with their children: "it is in the communal life that a dignified life can be sustained". With them and for all, we call on feminist organizat

ions around the world to demonstrate and demand that the necessary measures be taken to stop the fire.
