"Chapter 25 further states that trauma involves a particular decomposition of the personality. This view is extended and detailed in Chapter 26. It analyzes three prototypical conscious and self-conscious dissociative subsystems or ‘parts.’ Each strives to persevere in their existence in their own way.

These ‘states’ are described as ‘modes of longing and striving.’ It also makes the point that there are important differences between modes of longing and striving some authors refer to as ‘ego-states’ and dissociative parts. These differences are clinically as well as scientifically relevant.
Chapter 27 proposes that, like traumatized individuals as a unity, dissociative parts constitute operationally autonomous systems. When we are coping with our parts at war, we can lose access to Self. However, as healing takes place, you can return to who you are at your core. IFS therapy focuses on helping you realign with your authentic Self. The 8 C's that identify each of us at our core are:
Calm - I feel and embrace feelings of peace and calmness within. I feel confident in my ability to remain calm instead of turning to extreme emotions.
Compassionate - I have compassion for others and myself. I approach others with an open heart and empathy.
Curious - I take a curious, non-judgmental stance as I approach people and situations. I feel genuine curiosity as I enter a new situation or meet someone new. My curiosity leads to learning and growth.
Courageous - I have the courage to recognize my shortcomings. I can courageously own and apologize for my actions. I can choose to have courage when others may not.
Clear-minded - I can enter situations with clarity. I can leave intense emotions behind and remain objective.
Connection - I feel connected to my purpose in life, my relationships, and my ability to mend misunderstandings.

BITE (Hassan, 1988, 2015) offers a clearly defined model based on observable behaviors that expert witnesses can use to evaluate the presence of mind control or thought reform across a variety of settings and groups. A literature review was conducted on existing laws that address trafficking, coercive control, and undue influence. The quest to establish a scientifically valid way to evaluate exploitative influence acceptable to courts of law will be a herculean effort much greater than a single individual can deliver. There are powerful and wealthy religious and political forces in the United States which want to block such attempts. International bodies of the law may be more open to acceptance of authoritarian control as a legal construct of undue influence before the United States judicial system.
Many government intelligence agencies might not wish to have the public understand cult mind control techniques. I, myself, was involved with a cult that was “organized and utilized for use as a political tool,” the founder of the South Korean CIA said under oath (U.S. Government Printing Office, 1978). The CIA was involved with mind-control research throughout the 1950s through 1970s, including the infamous MKULTRA efforts of Sidney Gottlieb (Scheflin & Opton, 1978; Kinzer, 2019). I am not aware of any intelligence service publicly admitting in recent times to researching mind control.
Another complicating factor is the current assault on science itself. Deliberate campaigns to undermine people’s faith in science and experts are ongoing."

Our community admins assist trafficking victims and other Intuitive Invisibles to post the links they would like to share in order to initiate lifesaving public and private conversations, anonymously when needed for safety.
Because of severe disabilities and circumstances of violence, our community members often can only post a small part of what they would like to talk about safely with others.
Many survivors of violence can only be safe to initiate a particular discussion in caring, supportive, inclusive community settings --- spaces we are building and sharing.
Our public links and notes are part of extended private @IntuitiveCommunity knowledgebase materials and collaborative groups where all are invited to participate.
We learn together how to support one another so that courageous conversations and fully inclusive communications regenerate strength and healing in our communities.
Our friends and families today are being victimized by sex trafficking and ritual abuse --- many women, children, elders, and others.
Please hear us and respond with kindness each time a conversation is initiated —- each time a message is broadcast.
Our lives depend on this.
