Our entire lives we have been told that there are germs floating through the air that are out to get us, yet no one has ever observed such a thing with their own two eyes.
If there are no germs in the air, then disease cannot be caught. This also means that germs are a direct consequence of the environment (ie terrain) and their presence is not random.
Many people are probably aware of the debate between Pasteur and Bèchamp, but may not be aware of other controversies taking place around the same time. During the late 1800's Felix Pouchet was locked in a heated debate with Pasteur about the origin of microorganisms. Pasteur argued they came 'from the air' or whereas Pouchet argued germs arose spontaneously from the environment. Pouchet believed that there were basic units existing in nature that could give rise to any microorganism, depending on the environmental conditions - just like a stem cell can morph into any cell in the human body.
Pouchet conducted many experiments demonstrating spontaneous generation, as did other scientists like Henry Bastian, and at least a dozen others.
The theory of spontaneous generation was all but relegated to the waste paper basket following the release of Pasteur's germ theory. It's interesting that Pasteur was so adamant germs could not be generated spontaneously, considering he was a proponent of the theory himself, just a few years prior. Germ theory could never possibly be accepted as long as spontaneous generation stood in the way. Pasteur had to disprove spontaneous generation in order for the germ theory to be accepted.
Many modern day scientists, I philosophers and historians have reviewed Pasteurs work on spontaneous generation and have concluded that his experiments do not disprove the theory at all.
The germ is nothing; the terrain is everything.

"The Federal Reserve System is much less federal than the name would have you believe. There is a fair bit of government guidance from the Board of Governors, as well as from the directors the Board of Governors gets to choose. However, the actual system itself is primarily made up of private banks with a majority of privately appointed directors running the show at individual member banks and offering advice on monetary policy changes. While the upper levels of the organization are a government agency, this leaves much of the daily goings-on of the Federal Reserve in individual banks inaccessible to the public.
The goal of President Wilson and Congress in creating the Federal Reserve System was to promote economic stability through the uniformity and certainty of a central banking system which would promote and handle much of the monetary policy of the U.S. More recently, Congress expanded this aim, “[promoting] effectively the goals of maximum employment, stable prices, and moderate long-term interest rates.” The idea behind a centralized banking system is that it protects consumers from individual banks taking advantage of them as well as providing stability to the banking system.
However, the banking system in recent years has not really been known for its stability. As it stands, the Federal Reserve Act and associated law puts a lot of power to fulfill ostensibly government functions in entirely or partially private elements of the Federal Reserve. For example, the New York Fed–a private bank with government guidance–has a tremendous amount of power and influence over the financial state and policy of the U.S. The FOMC likewise has an enormous amount of power for a committee that is nearly half composed of what are, at the end of the day, private banking interests.
This state of affairs, coupled with the rocky trajectory of the banking industry over the last several decades, has led to quite a bit of criticism directed at the Federal Reserve. Critics have targeted everything from the structure of the Federal Reserve System, to its very efficacy in achieving its stated goals. This is an extremely complicated discussion. Look to future articles which will look more at the powers granted by the Federal Reserve Act, the loaning practices of the Federal Reserve, and some of these criticisms.
There is certainly a very credible argument that placing substantial control over monetary policy in the hands of private organizations which could profit from those policies is not ideal to say the least. This being said, the power split between public and private within the Federal Reserve System is complicated to unpack. However, it is plain to see that while the function and goals of the Federal Reserve are simple to recite, they are much more difficult to achieve in practice. The question of whether the current structure of the Federal Reserve is the best means of achieving those goals is similarly difficult to parse."

How to argue "no virus"
STEP 1
Keep the burden of proof on the claimers (of virus existence).
They claim to know, and perhaps they do, however it is unlikely that they have even read a single paper on the subject.
Therefore, respect their wisdom then ask one question and two followup questions.
1) What is the SEMINAL study that describes the discovery of said virus? The first, original study which describes discovery.
(The earlier the study, the less complicated the Bullshit and the less back and forth you will have with them. Later studies are often based on the original study, so nip it all at the root and ask for the ORIGINAL study).
Next:
a) What TEXT in this study describes the PROPER isolation of the virus (isolation WITH PURIFICATION)
Phrase the question in this way to ENSURE that they have actually read the paper and not just the title. 99 out of 100 times, you will find that these people simply google "virus isolation" and click on the first link that has the word isolation in the title.
So they should be able to provide THE SPECIFIC TEXT FROM THE PAPER, which will also save yourself some reading time.
b) What SPECIFIC text in this study describes the process of discounting toxicological factors as a possible cause for any perceived or observed cellular destruction? (Lanka is your friend here if you need him - and here and here .
At this point the virus huggers should balk or try to change the subject or turn it around and attempt to put the burden of proof on YOU. They have lost the argument and will reveal their baboonery.
Most likely they have not read the content of their prized study, and they are assuming you will be bluffed and in awe, like them. But you aren't, because you understand the details, and they don't.
They will send you the SAME papers we have discussed over and over again. You should be able to easily debunk them.
Summary (in other words)
To critique a “virus”, do not be awed or mesmerized by the technical language and science speak. These papers are written in this way to confuse you and make them sound all knowing.
Do not argue with these creatures. Just require proper documentation and demand evidence.
The burden of proof is on the germ theory zealots and the virus huggers. It is THEY who are making the claims, not you.
Merely ask one question, and add two followups.
1) What is the study that first claimed discovery of said virus?
a) What text in the study describes isolation of the virus?
They will not be able to provide a proper rebuttal because PROPER isolation doesn’t actually occur. The word “isolate” is (in practice) merely redefined as “mixture”. What is called a "virus strain" is the result of blending diseased tissue at high speed for 45 minutes and other damaging processes. Obviously that is not an "isolate".
b) What text in the study describes the process of discounting toxicological factors?
This is necessary, because in poisons are an obvious potential threat. The virus huggers won't be able to answer this, because their entire purpose is to distract you away any toxicological perception (the real cause).
STEP 2 (optional)
If you want to go one step further, then you can ask for the study that details the SPECIFIC EXPERIMENTS that were conducted (with control groups) that show that the virus or "sample" or "isolate" causes the illness. But this step is unnecessary because it cannot be achieved without first completing Step 1, which they won't be able to do.
FINALLY
YOU SHOULD ALWAYS have the ORIGINAL STUDY in your notes and you should UNDERSTAND THIS PAPER like the BACK OF YOUR HAND. You should be able to explain to a 4 year old why this is not true isolation using NOTHING BUT THE WORDS IN THE PAPER.
Do not give them the link. Let them go find it. 99% of the time they won't even be able to find the original study. But you have it in your back pocket.
So if they produce it, you know how to destroy it.

Jad Atik has undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in chemistry and worked in laboratories for many years. He now runs a school in the Dominican Republic called the Future Academy of Critical Thinking.
