center of gravity is fundamental to framing because it ensures both physical stability and a coherent visual balance, crucial for structural integrity and effective presentation of any framed object.

the art of kinetic sculpture is as much about the invisible rules of physics as about the visible rules of framing: both must be understood and played with in order to achieve works that are both stable and compelling.

This poem frames a spirit of unconditional acceptance and non-attachment, with lines such as:

"I will honour your Gods, I will drink from your well. I bring an undefended heart to our meeting place. I will not negotiate by withholding, I am not subject to disappointment. I have no cherished outcome"

Explanation Frames.

Bad Explanations:
Vague, ad hoc, easily varied (e.g. “because that’s how nature is”).

Good Explanations:
Hard to vary without losing explanatory power; they reveal why things must be the way they are under deeper principles.
The real enemy isn’t ignorance
it’s unexamined certainty.
Noise is not bias. Bias is systematic error. Noise is random scatter.

Socratic inquiry lowers judgmental noise by increasing conceptual coherence and exposing unstable intuitions.

High noise = explanation drift

Low noise = constrained, testable explanation (Deutsch’s “hard to vary” standard)
Mental toughness is often framed as the perseverance that gets you across the finish line:

- Find a way to make it happen
- Push through the pain
- Grind it out to the end

But most days, mental toughness isn't about crossing the finish line.

It's about getting to the starting line:

- Show up when no one is watching
- Keep your eye on the ball
- Do a little bit every day

Mental toughness is not skipping the days that are easy to skip.

Framing as useful abstraction.

We use these updated abstractions to create new technologies, letting us re-engineer the physical world.


Biology → Bioengineering (prosthetic limbs, genetic modification)

Physics → Advanced instruments (telescopes, particle accelerators)

Neuroscience → Medical devices (brain implants, neuroprosthetics)

Quantum mechanics → Modern electronics (semiconductors, quantum computers)


We constantly build better "FRAMES" (abstractions) of how the world works, then use those maps to create tools and technologies that let us change or redesign the world, to suit human needs, solve problems, and unlock new possibilities. This cycle of framing, of abstraction, reformulation, and application is at the heart of how humanity advances.
