Genesis 3 shows man chose subjection to Satan rather than the mandate at the end of Genesis 1. But we are in the completed Adam, Jesus by His blood and resume the work of manifesting God's own order in the world sufficient for the full harvest and bride of Christ to be prepared.

In last Tuesday night's INTERCEDE-X, David's men at Ziklag was a theme from God, of rescue and redemption. Headed into 7/4, that's what I personally sense and feel, more than feeling like celebrating what we began to have at 1776 and have lost like the wives and children in 1 Sam. 30. To me, we're more like those fellows after David inquired of the Lord, got His instruction, then found the Ethiopian. We have God's promise, course of action, and the fight for recovery with the reward of gaining beyond what we've ever had before. It was a long, victorious battle, then, at the First American Revolution, and now. As with Judah, we celebrate God in process.

From what I see, on July 2, Richard Henry Lee of Virginia's "Resolution of Independence" was adopted, "that the colonies “are, and of right ought to be, free and independent States.”
Meanwhile, the Declaration's "final" draft per the Committee of Five charged for it occurred on June 28, Jefferson, J. Adams, Franklin, Sherman of CT, and Livingston of NY participating.
The Continental Congress was busy with final wording of the Declaration of Independence through the 3rd and into the 4th (as the musical 1776 relates) with Jefferson being the scribe under the most pressure, and J. Adams and Franklin heartily pitching in. The Declaration was adopted by vote on the 4th.
Interestingly or not, the New York delegation added complications but not opposition.
Also, disagreement on slavery as a grievance with England affected some of the language, with Jefferson relenting.
The Congress directed the final document to be officially scribed on July 15. It was signed on August 2.
