VERY GOOD NEWS – US: Colorado Parks and Wildlife released five gray wolves captured in Oregon onto public land in Colorado this week in an effort to reestablish a self-sustaining wolf population in the state after voters approved the initiative in 2020.⁣

Officials plan to repeat the process until at least 10-15 wolves have been reintroduced in Colorado by mid-March 2024. Wolves can help balance ecosystems and manage the population of deer and elk, by eliminating sick members of those herds.⁣

The height of the eruption column was observed to be ± 1500 m above the peak (± 3084 m above sea level). The ash column was observed to be gray with thick intensity towards the north. The eruption was recorded on a seismograph with a maximum amplitude of 40 mm and a duration of 1440 seconds.
