BREAKING – Australia: A fighter plane crashed in the sea near Melbourne
A retired military aircraft, a 211 Viper, crashed into the water near Mount Martha, south of Melbourne, about 1.45pm on Sunday.
The S-211 aircraft is an Italian-made fighter that is mainly used for the training of the Royal Australian Air Force.
The two planes are believed to have collided about 12 kilometers west of Mornington. While one of the planes crashed in Port Phillip Bay, the other landed at Essendon Airport.
