In the past week, nine Catholic bishops worldwide died after testing positive for COVID-19.

Between January 8 and 15, bishops died on three continents as a result of the coronavirus. The ages of the deceased bishops ranged from 53 to 91 years. Five of the bishops died in Europe, where a new strain of COVID-19 has caused many countries to put more restrictions in place.

🚨BREAKING – Russian-flagged ship reportedly sinks off Turkish coast, crew awaiting rescue in lifeboats

Turkish rescue services have scrambled to save some 15 people left stranded on three lifeboats after the ship experienced an emergency near Turkey's Bartin Province, its governor, Sinan Guner, told media.

“There were no reports of people dying or lifeboats sinking so far,” the official said. “The weather conditions are bad, so the rescue teams have a hard time conducting the operation.”

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas has called for Covid-19 restrictions for those who have been vaccinated to be relaxed, saying they should get their rights back, as well as business owners who can reopen to serve them.

In an interview with German tabloid Bild on Sunday, Maas proposed allowing vaccinated Germans to go back to normal, arguing that “If there are only vaccinated people in a restaurant or a cinema, they can no longer endanger each other.”

⚡🇺🇸 Emergency crews respond to large fire, explosion in Sterling

This explosion near the Sybase Data Center in Sterling, Virginia is 47 kms from Washington DC, the capital of United States away.

The Loudoun County Fire Marshals Office is investigating a large structure fire and explosion Friday evening in Sterling. The explosion was ultimately determined to be propane cylinder. Here is the statement from Loudoun County Fire Rescue:

At approximately 10 p.m., (Loudoun County Fire Rescue) units from the Sterling, Ashburn, Kincora, Moorefield and Fairfax County North Point fire and rescue stations were dispatched for a reported structure fire at 45781 Maries Road in the Sterling District. The structure on fire appeared to be an old barn or storage type structure on an undeveloped parcel of land across the street from the Sybase Data Center.

Incoming fire and rescue units received a report from an (Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office) unit on the scene that the structure was fully involved with fire. An explosion occurred as the first units arrived which appeared to be a propane cylinder. LC-CFRS units initiated a rapid exterior attack on the fire with master stream devices and concurrently established a water supply from one fire hydrant at the data center and another hydrant further down Maries Road. Due to the advanced state of the fire, all suppression operations were from an exterior position.
