The Turkish helicopter that was seen transporting a number of wounded people from the city of Al-Bab in the northern Aleppo countryside, at noon on Wednesday, June 24/July, was carrying a group of senior commanders from Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS). They were reportedly attacked in a surprise assault by an armed man who entered while they were holding a meeting in a house on the outskirts of the city and opened fire on them, leaving several with serious injuries.

There is information indicating that two senior commanders among them were killed, while all of the wounded were transported to hospitals in Turkey by this helicopter, under the supervision of Turkish intelligence.

There are reports of mass purges taking place within the ranks of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham targeting commanders who oppose the war against Hezbollah in Lebanon. The first of them was Al-Aridi, and the latest was at this meeting.

ISIS cells in the city of Ras al-Ain (Serekaniye) are threatening displaced Kurdish residents against returning to their homes; they continue to loot Kurdish property and land and refuse to leave for the desert areas in the Deir ez-Zor countryside.

YRK: We will respond accordingly if the attacks continue

Issuing a warning regarding the Iranian army's attacks on villages around Baneh, the YRK stated, "We do not accept these attacks. If they are repeated, we will respond accordingly."

An armed confrontation is currently underway between Iranian government forces and factions of the Kurdish parties at the Baneh checkpoint along the Saqqez road in Eastern Kurdistan. Reports indicate the situation remains volatile with ongoing hostilities in the region.

A NEW RADICAL FORCE SENT TO TARTOUS

On June 14, a military force of approximately 300 armed militants reached the Bemleke area in Tartous province, in the coastal countryside. This force is commanded by the militia leader named “Ebu Mücahid el-Ensari.”

The majority of this group originated from Idlib province and belongs to radical military and security formations linked to the 86th Division under the Syrian Ministry of Defense. They had previously made statements on their social media pages indicating they would take action. Subsequently, this movement began to materialize. These militants, who started fires in Tartous’ Karaca region, have begun kidnapping young Alewites at night.

The militia group, which has established a base in the formerly army-controlled Bemleke area, has been assigned to carry out massacres in regions where the population is predominantly Alewite.

Simultaneous with the arrival of this radical militia group, on the night of June 15, attacks against the Alevi population were re-ignited in Tartous, Latakia, and Hama cities.
These include the arson of numerous bus stations and vehicle parking areas, along with the detention of young people at various points in the cities. Additionally, in the past few months, more than 23 young civilians — including women — have been kidnapped.
