Residents of Serê Kaniyê are attacking the General Security Center in protest against its failure to protect the displaced Kurdish families returning to the city.

And the Syrian flag was taken down from the General Security building in Hasakah, expressing their anger and rejection of what happened.

When the government fails to protect their citizens and protects the attackers, residents become angry - it creates instability.

Hours after the barbaric attacks carried out by militants affiliated with the Syrian Government against Kurdish IDPs who attempted to return to their homes of which they were displaced in 2019 by Turkey and the SNA, the latter of which has become part of the Syrian Government - residents are protesting in front of the Public Security headquarter as well as the city Center in Serekaniye (Ras al Ain) - the protestors are throwing stones and have taken down the Syrian flag as a form of protest.

In the hours to come, the settlers in Serekaniye will use this protest as a form of justification to further carry out sectarian attacks against the Kurdish people.

All of this could’ve been avoided if the Syrian government would’ve actually disarmed their militias - if the convoys of IDPs would’ve been properly protected by the STG.
Instead, Syria continues to rush developments in its efforts to secure *achievements* to keep the general population pacified.

Now we are looking at unfolding events, a chain reaction, of sectarian tensions and violence.
The attacks this morning were purely sectarian, driven by pure hate for the Kurdish people - Syria can no longer claim that it’s actions are directed at the *seperatists* *PKK* *Qandil* or whatever - terms they used to masquerade and justify their sectarian hatred towards the Kurdish people.

The attacks were purely directed at the Kurds.

SDF General Commendar Mazloum Abdi:

We condemn the assault to which the displaced Kurdish families were subjected during their return to Sari Kani (Ras al-Ain), which was carried out in coordination with the Syrian state.
We understand the angry reactions in the Kurdish street in response to this assault, and at the same time, we call on our people to exercise self-restraint, refrain from being drawn into any irresponsible acts, and preserve our civil and security institutions.
We affirm that we are working in coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure the protection of the returning displaced civilians and to hold accountable anyone proven to be involved in the assault acts, in a manner that guarantees everyone's rights and maintains the security and stability of the region.

Turkey’s mercenaries are spreading lies and claiming that the Kurds took down the Syrian flag, with the aim of fueling conflict between the different communities and diverting attention from the attacks, extremism, and terrorism that the Kurds are being subjected to.

This claim is completely false and untrue. The people who took down the flag were the General Security forces themselves, who were present at their headquarters.

After the attack by the settlers and Turkish mercenaries in Serekaniye, and their assault on the convoy of displaced Kurds who had returned to Serekaniye—beating them, damaging their belongings, and opening fire on them—the Kurdish people in Qamishli and Hasakah held sit-ins in front of the General Security offices affiliated with the Damascus government.

A member of the General Security forces filmed the protesters and insulted the Kurdish people and their symbols, demonstrating the terrorist mindset of the Damascus authorities.

Look at how the Kurds were attacked by Turkish mercenaries and settlers in Sere Kaniye…

The young man’s face was covered in blood, and they did not stop there. They humiliated him by stepping on his head and taking pictures.

The terrorist Damascus government and the Turkish mercenaries have neither honor nor commitment to any agreement or covenant; both are built on terrorism and sectarianism.

As stated - the Syrian media spheres only interest is to tie these events to political entities to justify the attacks.

No comments about the barbaric attacks against the returning Kurdish IDPs - instead the only focus is to somehow twist things enough to justify further violence.

The outrage is directed at the Syrian state - its failure to disarm its militants and protect the returning IDPs.

The public security personnel in these areas are former SDF (Asayish) members - it’s ridiculous to believe that SDF loyal people would attack HQs in which former SDF members are stationed in.

This person, Michael Arizanti, is a danger to Europe and the entire world. He whitewashes the actions of terrorists from ISIS and al-Qaeda and turns their crimes into “rights.”

The displaced people who returned to their city and homes in Serekaniye were attacked by Turkish-backed mercenaries and settlers, many of whom are affiliated with ISIS terrorist cells. They used weapons, damaged their cars and property, and kidnapped some people. The whereabouts of some of those who were kidnapped are still unknown to this day. All of this has been documented in videos and photographs.

Yet this person spreads lies to justify their terrorist actions.

First, the person who lowered the flag was a member of the Public Security Forces affiliated with the Damascus government.

As for those who attacked the Kurds, they were Arab settlers and Turkish-backed mercenaries.
