▪️ As part of the January 29, 2026 agreement, the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) continue discussions with Damascus.
▪️ In April, we held a meeting with Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra and submitted a written proposal outlining our views and suggestions.
▪️ So far, no official proposal or decision has been presented to us by Damascus authorities.
▪️ There are views that YPJ should maintain an independent counter-terrorism force within the Ministry of Interior, but no clear decision has been reached yet.
▪️ Further meetings with Damascus officials will take place in the coming days to discuss this issue.

Clashes and insults broke out between Syrian interim government employees and civilians at a currency exchange center in Raqqa. The government exchanges 10,000 old notes for only 90 new notes (9,000 old), which protesters see as a loss of their money’s value.
