Before the arrival of a large group of displaced people from Afrin returning to the city, members of the public security forces and pro-Turkey supporters took to the streets, raising al-Qaeda flags and playing jihadist chants and other songs, in an attempt to intimidate and frighten residents who are returning to their homes.

In Raqqa, Syrian children are being filmed eating from the public garbage dumps spread across the city.
Syria is in a catastrophic state; yet no one is really talking about it.
This is what happens when you build a country on the foundation of a *strongmen in a suit* - a nation that is polishing its inherited failed system instead of replacing it.

PJAK spokesperson Rêwar Awdanan stated:
- “Those who see Kurds only as military forces are mistaken. Kurds are a political community with defined democratic demands.”
- “In developments in Iran, PJAK acts in a way that enables Kurds to engage with other parties and have a voice within the framework of their own political demands.”

US President Trump:
“We sent some guns, but the group that was supposed to give them, which I said would happen to my people, I said it, I called it exactly. We sent guns, a lot of guns. They were supposed to go to the people so they could fight back against these thugs. You know what happened? The people that they sent them to kept them. Because they said, ‘what a beautiful gun, I think I’ll keep it.’ So I’m very upset with a certain group of people and they’re going to pay a big price for that.”
In contradiction to yesterday’s report by Fox News: Trump did not name the Kurds.
In addition to that, the Kurdish factions have all explicitly stated that they did not receive any kind of arms or similar.
However the wording and framing clearly implies that he is talking about us Kurds.
As I explained yesterday it is very unrealistic to think that Kurds could supply meaningful amounts of weapons to *protestors* outside of Rojhelat.
Seems like Kurds have become, yet again, Trumps scapegoat.

This isn’t about wether or not Kurds would like to do that or similar.
It is simply not realistic to think that we could drive trucks with thousands of rifles across half of Iran.
Ways exist to get things into Rojhelat; that is not a big secret but from Rojhelat into non-Kurdish areas is a very different ordeal.
Like in any other country, smuggling is possible - but to arm protestors like Trump suggests, the shipments have to be in a meaningful/significant quantity; this type of smuggling is not possible in a country that is a police state and heavily militarised.

In Suwayda, the Druze community has entered a new phase in its process of de facto self-governance. Hikmat al-Hijri, a prominent Druze figure, announced the dissolution of the Legal Committee, which had been established as part of the transition process.
El-Hijri announced that a new Executive Council would be established to assume executive powers, replacing the current structure. This step is said to aim at making the administrative structure in the region more effective and strengthening the self-governing mechanisms of the Druze community.
The decision signals a deepening of the institutionalization process towards de facto independence in Suweida. The newly formed council is expected to assume a more central role in local governance, security, and public services.

What will Israel's response be?
Today, an armed attack was carried out against the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul.
Three gunmen were killed. One Turkish police officer was killed and another was wounded. Knowing that there are Hezbollah and Iranian-linked centers in many Turkish cities, will Israel retaliate against this attack?
