Damascus Continues Attacks Despite Ceasefire Agreement

Despite the ceasefire agreement, Damascus-backed factions continue their attacks on Kobani and the al-Aqtan prison in Raqqa.

Simultaneously with the shelling of al-Aqtan prison, which houses ISIS militants, these factions targeted the outskirts of the town of Sarrin and attacked the village of Khrouss, south of Kobani, using heavy weapons and artillery. The entire southern and southwestern countryside of Kobani was also subjected to a barrage of artillery fire, and the shelling continues as of the time of this report.

We are attaching to this statement videos published by accounts affiliated with these factions, documenting the artillery shelling they are carrying out on areas south of Kobani.

This constitutes a violation of the ceasefire for the second consecutive day. Yesterday also saw 22 violations committed by these factions, including attacks on Kobani, Hasakah, and al-Aqtan prison.

In addition to military attacks, Damascus continues its policy of collective punishment by cutting off water and electricity to the city of Kobani and preventing fuel deliveries amidst harsh winter conditions. Simultaneously, it continues to cut off water to the al-Aqtan prison in Raqqa, posing a direct threat to the lives of prisoners and foreshadowing serious humanitarian consequences.

We hold Damascus fully responsible for these ongoing violations and emphasize that the continued targeting of populated areas and sensitive facilities, including detention centers for ISIS members, constitutes a grave threat to security and stability. We also call upon the guarantor states to take immediate and effective measures to halt these violations and ensure full adherence to the ceasefire agreement.

Additionally, Ambassador Barrack’s commendable efforts to facilitate dialogue and negotiations between us and the Syrian government are serious, essential and highly valued.

According to the information obtained, 2711 HTS/SNA militants have been killed and 4000 wounded so far.Their families in Damascus, Homs and Idlib.

They all want their bodies and HTS does not allow them to be identified. Their families are very hostile towards Damascus government.

A Kurdish family was entirely executed by terrorists from Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and ISIS.

Terrorists of the so-called Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) government, in cooperation with elements of the ISIS organization, carried out a field execution of an entire Kurdish family from the village of Kork in the northeastern countryside of Kobani.

The family consisted of five members. They were killed while attempting to leave the city of Raqqa.

The evacuation of Kurdish forces guarding ISIS detainees from al-Aqtan prison has begun.

They did not surrender, they resisted until the very end, and now they are heading towards Kobane, the stronghold of resistance.

Raya from Deir Ez-Zor is from the Bagara tribe. She is of Arab origin and a member of the YPJ forces.

She say: "They will not be able to sow discord between the Kurdish and Arab people. If the Damascus government wants war, we are here, we will fight."

The heroic Kurdish fighters who put up a great resistance in Al Aqtan prison are being greeted with great enthusiasm in Kobanê.
