*scratches head* I think….the series of events last night are this;
1) IDF were staging for a strike in Syria.
2) SyAAD preemptively launched a SAM (SA-5 suspected?) against the jets, this ended up over near Dimona (intercepted or not?)
3) IDF responded hitting the SAM site.

Interception of the Syrian surface to air missile failed according to the preliminary investigation, despite IDF AD being activated.

Reported images of shrapnel from the Syrian surface to air missile fired towards Dimona overnight. It remains unclear if the IDF air defenses intercpeted it.
Had a look at yesterday’s imagery from Israel regards to this “massive explosion” at the Tomar Plant and Sdot Micha Base, not seeing anything major obvious, i’ll check again with some more passes, but honestly, it just looks like a missile engine test that went wrong, on a stand.
