Can India Refuse Bangladeshโs Request To Extradite Sheikh Hasina?
Under India's Extradition Act, 1962, the Centre has explicit powers to deny extradition, stay proceedings, or discharge the person sought, depending on the circumstances.
The Indian Government Can REFUSE EXTRADITION if:
โข the request appears trivial or not made in good faith
โข the request is politically motivated
โข the extradition is not in the interest of justice
THE TREATY'S ARTICLE 21 STATES:
โข either country can terminate the treaty with six months' notice
โข the UN cannot enforce or intervene in a bilateral treaty
โข ICJ intervention is impossible without consent from both states

On 18 November 1962, Major Shaitan Singh (PVC) and the 120 brave soldiers of C Company, 13 Kumaon, fought a battle that became legendary in Indiaโs military history. At nearly 17,000 feet, facing bone-chilling winds, freezing temperatures, and limited equipment, they stood firm by the Indian Army ethos -โLast bullet, last breath; the post will not be abandoned, not an inch of ground will be lost.โ
Outnumbered many times over by Chinese forces, they refused to retreat and chose supreme sacrifice over surrender.
Today, we remember and honor those immortal heroes with deep respect and gratitude. ๐๐ผ
