🇮🇳 MHA Statement on Nowgam PS Incident

1. Yesterday, on 14th November night at 11.20 pm, in an unfortunate accidental incidence, a massive explosion took place inside the police station Nowgam in Jammu and Kashmir.

2. It is to mention that the Nowgam Police recently cracked the case of a terror module based on leads taken from a poster.

3. During investigation of FIR No 162/2025 of PS Nowgam, a huge cache of explosive substances and chemicals were also recovered. The recovery was kept securely in the open area of the police station.

4. All the agencies involved in the investigation are working together in a coordinated and scientific way. 

5. As part of standard and prescribed procedure, the recovered chemical and explosives samples were being forwarded for further forensic and chemical examination.

6. Because of voluminous recovery, the said process was continually attended for about last 2 days by following the standard operating procedure.

7. Owing to the unstable and sensitive nature of recovery, it was being handled carefully under expert supervision. 

8. However, during the process, accidental explosion took place at about 11:20 PM on 14.11.2025 (Yesterday night). In this unfortunate incident, 09 people have lost their lives whereas 27 Police personnel, 02 revenue officials and 03 civilians have received injuries. Injured were immediately rushed for the medical care and attention.

9. The building of Police station has received severe damages, besides those buildings surrounding the Police Station have also been damaged.

10. The cause of the accident is being investigated. However, any other speculation into the cause of this incident are unnecessary.

11. The Government stands in solidarity with the families of the deceased in this hour of grief.

🚨 NIA picked up Ludhiana-based doctor Jahnisar Alam from West Bengal in JeM White Collar Terror Module case. He completed MBBS from Al Falah University in 2024.

🚨 A doctor named Raees Ahmed Bhatt, an MBBS, has been detained from White College in Mamun Cantt, Pathankot, Punjab, for questioning in connection with the Delhi blast.

It is reported that, Dr. Bhatt previously worked at Al-Falah University in Faridabad for four years. Investigations have also revealed that he was in contact with employees there. Dr. Bhatt was also in contact with Dr. Umar, the main accused in the Delhi bombings.
