Stoltenberg says NATO ready to transfer additional air and sea-based defense forces into Poland if necessary, and if it were not for Russia, the missile landing in Poland would not have happened.

UPDATE: Our air defense systems set up to repel attacks around the clock, but we have no evidence that missile that fell in Poland was result of attack, it did not have characteristics of an attack - Stoltenberg.

Ukrainian Army informs US and other Western allies it was attempting to intercept Russian missile during incident and also close to that location, CNN reports, citing US administration source. It was this information that served as the basis for assessment of incident.
