✈️ BOEING WHO? RUSSIAN AIRCRAFT GO DOMESTIC: Russia is taking the final step toward its own aircraft industry, that is completely independent of the embattled Boeing & Airbus giants.

This is possible due to the domestically produced #Yakovlev MC-21 and #Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SJ-100) planes. Their debut flights, with domestic engines, are planned for 2025.

Serial production is underway, with the planes awaiting completion of certification tests. Production capacity is roughly 36 aircraft annually.

In 2022, the European Union banned the supply of civilian aircraft and spare parts to Russia. Full import substitution has determined the viability of fully Russian-made aircraft, including all engine parts.
