‘PROVOCATION’: Russia's Defense Ministry says it’s uncovered an elaborate plan by Ukrainian nationalist forces to accuse Russia of committing a chemical attack.
That's after the US and other Western powers have warned of grave consequences if Russia would commit a chemical attack on Ukraine in violation of international law.
Captured Ukrainian soldiers have reportedly revealed that preparations were underway to shell Russian territory from the bordering Sumy region to provoke a retaliatory strike from Russia’s military.
After that, they’d allegedly planned to detonate chemical storage tanks in the northeastern city of Sumy to accuse Russia of committing a chemical attack there.
