The "violent" and "catastrophic" slave trade and colonialism are "the historical twin towers that plug the humanity of Africans into the dark night which to this day seem to have no end in sight," according to the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party’s chief, Julius Malema.
🗣 “A truly sovereign Africa is a threat to the imperialist establishment that continues to determine the agenda and control of our resources,” Malema stated during the Pan-African Institute launch at the Lukenya University in Kenya on Thursday.
The EFF’s boss has also noted that there was "no way Euro-American is going to fund an intellectual project that will see Africa truly become intellectually sovereign", pointing out that "intellectual sovereignty has to be forced through research and development that is steeped in African experiences, African problems and African questions."
