US intelligence briefed senior military figures on Wednesday that Prigozhin was preparing to take military action against senior Russian defense officials

Washington had indications days earlier that "Mr. Prigozhin" (now he's Mr.🤡) was planning something and worked to refine that material into a finished assessment.

US "Intelligence officials" of course decided to joyfully watch any possible bloodshed, claiming fear of Putin accusing them of orchestrating the coup themselves and not wanting to help him avoid a serious split in Russian society is what kept them quiet.
