Putin announces new Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) will soon be ready for deployment.

Sarmat ICBM weighs 100 tonnes (for comparison, the US-made LGM-30 Minuteman is 35 tonnes) with a range of 18,000km.

This allows it to carry around 15 warheads, up to 750kt. (The bomb US dropped on Hiroshima was 15kt.) This would be enough to wipe out a country the size of France. It can also carry hypersonic missiles, rendering most missile defence systems ineffective.
