Article adds West embarked on sanctions war with "exaggerated sense of its own influence around the world" but it soon became clear that West wanted economic war with Russia but iNteRnAtiOnAl community didn’t.

The Spectator still doesn’t shy away from warmongering though, saying if West thinks it “can fight wars purely by economic means, without bombs or bullets, it is badly mistaken.”

🇪🇺🇷🇺🛢NOTHING LEFT TO SANCTION so all EU can do is attempt to close gaping loopholes in restrictions it has already imposed on Russia - this time desperately trying to stop "shadow fleet" tankers carrying Russian oil from entering European ports.

Draft plans will mean any ships even "suspected" of breaching Russian oil ban will be told to turn around when attempting to enter EU as ships simply are turning off their transponders and GPS to avoid being found out.
