JUSTICE MIGHT PREVAIL: UN sends 'Israeli Occupation' Resolution to International World Court (ICJ) to give its legal opinion on the occupation of Palestinian territories; 87 members of the UN voted in favor of the Resolution, 26 against (including US and Israel) and 53 abstained. Ukraine was absent, allegedly over Israel not supplying weapons.

Israel captured the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem in the 1967 war. It still controls the borders with Egypt despite withdrawing from Gaza 17 years ago.The ICJ's rulings are binding but no matter how it rules, it has no power to enforce them.
