🇱🇧 UN-PEACEFUL: An Irish UN soldier KILLED in Southern Lebanon and 3 others injured after their convoy comes under fire in the Lebanese village of Al-Aqabiyeh.
The incident started when UN soldiers trespassed on private land, leading to locals swarming their vehicle in protest. UN forces then attempted to ram the locals with their vehicle, leading to scuffle, shooting and UN vehicle being flipped over.
UN peacekeeping forces have long been accused of bias towards Israel and bullying locals by Lebanese people, failing to adhere to regulations stipulating that UN soldiers operate only with the Lebanese army escorting them.
