To be wise a man must take a look within - to embrace what he's becoming, and to learn from where he's been. If a man attempts all this, then he truly has the heart and soul it takes to be a man.

Are you crazy or normal?

Answer just one question - which way is the mask rotating?

Correct answer - right.

People with schizophrenia, however, arenโ€™t fooled by this illusion. If you show them a hollow mask, they tend to see it for what it is โ€“ a hollow mask.

A 2009 study came up with dramatic results on just differently people with and without schizophrenia perceive this illusion. The 16 participants without schizophrenia mistook 99 percent of the hollow faces they saw as convex faces, but the 13 schizophrenia patients perceived the hollow faces as convex only 6 percent of the time.

The study also suggested a possible explanation: it may be that people with schizophrenia experience differences in brain connectivity that lead them to process things in a more โ€œbottom-upโ€ way โ€“ whereas people without schizophrenia process things in a more โ€œtop-downโ€ way, which leads them to conclude based on previous experience that seeing a hollow face is unlikely.

Day 68 - DON'T UNINTENTIONALLY HAND OVER YOUR FREEDOM
Instinctively, we protect our physical selves. We donโ€™t let people touch us, push us around, control where we go. But when it comes to the mind, weโ€™re less disciplined. We hand it over willingly to social media, to television, to what other people are doing, thinking, or saying. We sit down to work and the next thing you know, weโ€™re browsing the Internet. We sit down with our families, but within minutes we have our phones out. We sit down peacefully in a park, but instead of looking inward, weโ€™re judging people as they pass by.
We donโ€™t even know that weโ€™re doing this. We donโ€™t realize how much waste is in it, how inefficient and distracted it makes us. And whatโ€™s worseโ€”no one is making this happen. Itโ€™s totally self-inflicted.
To the Stoics, this is an abomination. They know that the world can control our bodiesโ€”we can be thrown in jail or be tossed about by the weather. But the mind? Thatโ€™s ours. We must protect it.
Maintain control over your mind and perceptions, theyโ€™d say. Itโ€™s your most prized possession.
