The engineer was arrested for bugging the executive conference room of OpenAI.

The device was in a USB port behind a TV, hidden in toilet paper.

‼️ The FBI raided over 40 suspected North Korean "laptop farms" in Texas and seized ~187 devices.

The DOJ also charged 14 people over a scheme who put DPRK IT workers inside more than 70 US companies. Each laptop may represent a company that hired a North Korean.

‼️ BREAKING: Threat actor ByteToBreach claims it stole over 80 million patient records from Ampath, one of South Africa's largest pathology labs.

Ampath confirmed the attack and says ID numbers and medical aid details may have been accessed.

‼️ UPDATE: According to ByteToBreach, he chained multiple vulnerabilities to reach Ampath's patient records.

ByteToBreach asked for 50 ETH ($124k) for his 'work', which Ampath agreed to but hasn't paid yet.

He gave a pentest report to Ampath, who, according to ByteToBreach, "then patched everything and called it a day".
