Wir werden die Krise als das neue Normale erleben“ erklärte Friedrich Merz jüngst, um dann im Plauderton all das runterzubeten, was bei staatstragenden Charaktermasken allgemeinhin als adäquate Krisenlösung verhandelt wird: Weitere Schleifung des Asylrechts (bzw. dessen was davon noch übrig ist), Verschärfung der Migrationsgesetze, Steuererleichterung für Unternehmen auf der einen sowie Kürzungen beim Bürgergeld, Sozialleistungen sowie Löhnen und Renten auf der anderen Seite. Es gelte „wieder wettbewerbsfähig“ zu werden, was gleichzeitig auch verschärfte Aufrüstung und „mehr Investitionen in unsere Sicherheit“ voraussetze. [...] Die Zeiten in der die Krisenerscheinungen dieses Systems noch lapidar auf das Treiben „unfähiger Politiker“ oder „gieriger Banker“ heruntergespielt werden konnte, sind lange vorbei. Die Krise hat das System bis in seine letzten Fasern erfasst. Sie bestimmt unser Leben und entlädt sich weltweit in einer Reihe kriegerischer Konflikte.

"Two years ago, the Resolution Foundation published a report which found that 900,000 British workers had no paid holidays (once a statutory right) whilst 1.8m didn’t get a payslip, and almost one third of workers on minimum wage had been underpaid. Evidence suggests the situation has only worsened. Little wonder, then, that workers in some sectors are refusing to accept the bosses’ latest attempts to worsen their already brutal conditions. CWO militants have joined these workers at picket lines, and here are some of our observations."
