تروتسکی همچون یک انقلابی جان باخت!
در 20 اوت سال 1940، لئون تروتسکی، یکی از خالقان انقلاب پر شکوه اکتبر، از رهبران شوراهای کارگری، سازمان دهندهٔ قهرمان ارتش سرخ، خطیب پرشور، توانا و سرسخت انقلاب کمونیستی، در تبعیدگاه خود در مکزیک توسط یکی از عوامل استالین بنام «رامون مرکادر» با ضربهای وحشیانه از تبر به شدت مجروح شد و روز بعد، در حالی که همچون یک انقلابی تا واپسین دم ایستادگی کرد، جان سپرد.
تروتسکی، با وجود خطاها و اشتباهاتی که بهویژه در سالهای پایانی عمرش مرتکب شد، همچون یک انقلابی جان سپرد. با این حال، تروتسکی و تروتسکیسم به دو اردوگاه متفاوت تعلق دارند. تروتسکی به اردوگاه پرولتاریا تعلق داشت، در حالی که تروتسکیسم نمایندگی جناح چپ سرمایه را بر عهده دارد.
تاریخ و انقلابیون هرگز قتل تروتسکی را فراموش نخواهند کرد. به پاس گرامیداشت یاد این انقلابی بزرگ، قطعهای کوتاه از وصیت نامهٔ مختصر او را ـ که در ۲۷ فوریه ۱۹۴۰، شش ماه پیش از ترورش نوشته شد، نقل میکنیم. نوشتهای که بازتاب دهندهٔ امید راسخ و تلاش پیوستهٔ او برای مبارزه در راه آیندهای کمونیستی و جهانی بهتر است. باشد که با این کار سهمی هرچند اندک در ادای احترام به این انقلابی بزرگ ادا کرده باشیم.
"چهل و سه سال از عمری که آگاهانه گذراندهام، به عنوان یک انقلابی وفادار باقی ماندهام. چهل و دو سال از آن سالها را تحت لوای مارکسیسم جنگیدهام. اگر مجبور بودم همه آن سالها را از نو شروع کنم، البته تلاش میکردم از این یا آن اشتباه پرهیز کنم، اما مسیر اصلی زندگیام همانگونه بدون تغییر باقی میماند.
من یک انقلابی کارگری، یک مارکسیست، ماتریالیست دیالکتیکی و به تبع آن یک خدا ناباور آشتیناپذیر خواهم مرد. ایمان من به آینده کمونیستی بشریت کمتر از گذشته نیست؛ در واقع امروز محکم تر از آن چیزی است که در روزگار جوانی من بود...
زندگی زیباست. بگذارید نسلهای آینده آن را از شر همه شرارتها، ستم و خشونت پاک کنند و از آن لذت ببرند."
