After the giveaway was posted earlier today it seems like this channel got flooded with bots trying to win the giveaway for themselves. To prevent this we have made the channel private until next week and have removed all accounts that we believe were bots. We have good news and bad news.

Good news: Niantic has awarded three agents with the rare Edgar Allan Wright medal for their work on the Ingress Report!

Bad news: The ripples created by this rare event has knocked the site offline.

Heads up, we are turning off our TG Proxy for the time being!

Almost 3 months ago we created a dedicated Telegram Proxy in response to Spain threatening to block Telegram entirely, which would have impeded communications between Agents massively. In the end, the Spanish courts however have suspended the block and Telegram continues to be accessible as normal.

While the proxy was used by around 115 Agents during the first day that number has dropped to just 24 as of yesterday, which is why we'll turn it off for the time being. Should the need arise we can easily reactivate it, but for now it'll get some well deserved rest.

Having problems logging in on iOS? Make sure that you allow Pop-ups so that you can log in with Google!

The NIA has attempted another sabotage on our servers by cutting the fiber cables near our location.

Until the cables are replaced our website will likely be offline or at the very least impacted by this. Our dev will be trying to bring the server back up at least partially later today.

It's alive!

Thanks to our patented XM technology we have managed to bring our server back online! Once again sorry for the disruption.

Time for some updates!

- Ingress.Plus now has a dedicated homepage quickly linking to the main parts of the Website. The Badges have been moved to a subpage, so make sure to update your bookmarks if you had it saved!
- There is now a basic Verification system in place to verify Agent names and factions. As it is still done manually, Verification can not be requested and is done at the discretion of the Admins. Your verification status can be seen on your Profile or on the new, dedicated Verification page.

- The Badges themselves have gotten some updates. The page now uses lazy loading which means that the badge images are only loaded once you scroll to them, saving data and speeding up loading drastically.
- Clicking on a category title will now copy a link to the clipboard which can be used to quickly jump to that specific category (for example: https://ingress.plus/badges#festive-medals). Thank you @Ninjaburger for adding this feature via GitHub!
- Badge tiers can now be locked independently from the badge itself. Certain Badges for which it is impossible to get certain tiers now have these tiers locked (GORUCK badges and Second Sunday). Let us know if you have gotten a tier which is currently locked so we can unlock it!
---> Kind of related, but the Edgar Allan Wright 2015 badge has been locked as well due to its rarity. We want to have the stats be as accurate as possible, so if you are an EAW badge holder please contact @InvestigateXM so he can assign it to you on the site. Unconfirmed holders have been deleted.
- Badges which are or were only available with C.O.R.E. now have a special C.O.R.E. mark in the badge details.

- The Bug Tracker has also gotten some updates. You can now add reproduction steps when creating a Bug Report if you know how to reproduce a bug. This step is optional.
- You can now upload up to 5 images when creating a Bug Report. These will be shown in a fancy new window when clicking on them in the Bug Report. You need to be verified to upload images.

- Other various changes and fixes include adding an "About" page, adding new sites to the Resource page, fixing an visual issue on iOS regarding checkboxes, moving the Agent name in the header to the right on PC as well as adding your Google profile picture to it, and other stuff

How do I verify myself?

- At the moment you cannot verify yourself.

Verification is a manual process which requires our Admins to be online at a PC and to have time to process it, and as such, Verification is generally closed and cannot be requested by users.

In the future, there will be an automatic way to gain "Basic" verification with "Advanced" verification continuing to require Admins.

Please, do not message the Admins to ask for verification! Every time you ask automated verification will be pushed back by a day.*

What are the benefits of Verification?

- You will be able to upload images to new bug reports.

At the moment, the only benefit of Verification is that you can attach up to 5 images to a new bug report on our Bug Tracker. If you do not plan to write bug reports then the Verification is currently not needed for you.

But I still really want to be verified!

- Join our Ingress.Plus group chat.

From time to time, Admins may have the time to verify people while on PC. In that case, they'll post into the group chat that verification is currently open. Reply to that message and you'll recieve instructions via a private message.

Update time!

- We have added a new feature to the website: Events! Upcoming, currently running as well as past Ingress events can now be found at ingress.plus/events as well as a link to add the event to your own calendar. Times are shown in your own timezone so Events that don't start local time should still show the correct start time for you.
--> Timezones are notoriously a PITA, so if you notice any issues regarding times as well as other problems with the Events let us know!
--> If you are hosting an Agent-run event, no matter if for one faction only or crossfaction, send a message to @InvestigateXM so he can add it to the site as well!

Each Event also has a page with more concrete details, such as a description, active bonuses as well as rewards you can gain during it.

- The Badges feature has received two new features: Requirements and timed unlocks! Tiered statistics badges now show what exactly you have to do to unlock it under the badges description.

Timed unlockes are for times when a new badge has a known time when it releases so it automatically gets unlocked on the site for you to mark as obtained.

- Bug fixes are also included this update! Thanks to @Ninjaburger you can finally tap on the download button in the details for a badge again, as well as having the badge centered when being logged out. It is also now possible to reopen the details for a badge after you close it without needing to reload the site. Finally, the fonts that are being used as a fallback when a browser has an issue with Zalgo text have been updated.
