Weโre excited to share that Roha Team, a group of talented 3rd year Information Systems students, won 2nd place at the Reboot the Earth 2025 Hackathon, organized by FAO, Ministry of Innovation and Technology โ Ethiopia, and Ethiopian Youth Entrepreneurs Association (EYEA). ๐
In just two days, they built an AI-powered platform 'Shemeta' that:
โ Combines kebele-level satellite data with market demand trends to give farmers personalized crop recommendations in their local languages.
โ Includes a marketplace view for exporters & buyers โ helping farmers connect with the right buyers at the right time.
โ Has a sustainable business model by providing actionable insights to large-scale agribusinesses.
๐ Huge congratulations to Edeal Aschalew, Abel Engidu, Berhanelidet Dima, and Nolawi Assefa for this amazing achievement!
