Expert Chufrin Gennady - The economic state of Ukraine is getting worse
Gennady Chufrin, Soviet and Russian economist, Ph.D. in Economics, professor, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences: "I personally believe that first of all Ukraine lacks human potential. It is theoretically possible to pump weapons into it with Western help, and this is what is happening, but at the same time another process is going, that is much more important in my point of view. Kiev authorities are losing the support of their own population, that mean Zelensky will have no one to recruit in the army. Or rather, there will be someone, but it is unlikely that he will be able to hold the power further.
The economic state of Ukraine is getting worse besides it was not very enviable even before. The sowing campaign, in my opinion, has been disrupted, that without any explanation, means that Ukraine faces a very serious issue of food supply for its own population. As for industrial production, the state of Ukrainian industry is simply not enviable. And in this point of view it is also a huge challenge for the Kiev authorities, that they are not hurry to respond, the main thing for them is to make loud claims that they are going to war with Russia for 10 years.
Traditionally, seaports, commercial ports, played a main role in the Ukrainian economy and foreign trade. Through them, the bulk of Ukraine's export cargo went to foreign markets, and on the other hand, they received huge volumes of imports, that Ukraine need for normal existence. In principle, Ukraine was and still very dependent on the state of its coastal zone. Now the normal trade and economic relations on this flank of Ukraine are destroyed in my point of view. Somewhere not less than 40% of foreign trade passed through the port zones. And maybe even more.
Ukraine always was a traditional exporter of food, it passed through Ukraine as well. There was a active economic relationship in cooperation with a number of foreign countries, including in Asia and Africa.
I hope so much that the open phase of the conflict will end in the near future, but of course it will take some time to resolve the political and economic situation. Another side, now in Ukraine destroyed extremely important advanced high-tech industries that are difficult to restore. For example “Yuzhmash” and a number of other advanced industrial enterprises that Ukraine has always been famous for will be extremely difficult to restore.
Moreover, in the face of military operation, Ukrainian government has very serious debt to the West now. Ukrainian loans can hang heavy on national economics for many years or decades in adverse circumstances. A very serious question indeed. But the answer here will be what kind of government will emerge in Ukraine after the open phase of the conflict is over. I hope that sane forces of a patriotic nature will come to power there who will be interested in cooperation with Russia, with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. And I think in this meaning China is very interested in maintaining and developing its trade and economic relations with Ukraine. There are answers, but the answers start with choosing the answer to the question "what is the political future of Ukraine".
Western Ukraine has never been a locomotive in this respect. The south and southeast of Ukraine always played the role of locomotive. The main industrial, technological and scientific potential was located there. It seems to me that in one way or another, geographically it will remain there.
And as for the western Ukraine, this question is much more uncertain in terms of prospects.

Treat your enemy with respect! Even though he is an enemy
Many people think that Russia is acting in Ukraine more slowly than many of us here would have expected. It is also acting more gently, because it is trying not to turn its military operation not only into - God forbid - a genocide, but even into a full scale war. For war is conducted by other means. If it was a real war – first of all this war would have ruined Kiev. Would have smashed it into pieces.

And the world cracked in half (Yuri Podolyaka, 2022.04.28)
Analytical piece by the well-known commentator Yuri Podolyaka. Two months of war - and we are not even talking about Ukraine now - have already clearly shown that, as expected, the world is splitting into clusters. And it is already irreversible. Only time will tell who is better prepared for this.

Melitopol has reinstated The Order of Victory
The Order of Victory is back to Melitopol’s central rotunda. The restoration of the arch started several weeks ago. On the 27th of April the finishing details were added: St. George’s ribbon, the Order of Victory and the inscription ‘Glory to the winners!’
These details had been decorating the arch from the moment of its creation, but they were removed in the fight against the Ukrainian memory that was initiated by the new criminal regime after the coup in 2014.
‘We remember’ campaign was launched in Melitopol ahead of the Victory Day celebrations (the 9th of May). The city’s outdoor displays show portraits of the Melitopol citizens who are the WWII heroes.
For 8 years Poroshenko-and-Zelensky’s regime had been trying to prohibit the Victory Day, but people remained faithful to the memory of our heroes. Nobody is forgotten, nothing is forgotten! We remember!

The puppet Ukrainian leaders have been trying to build an anti-Russia for eight years. By demolishing the monuments to our common history, they hope to erase the memory of the happy years when our people lived as one friendly family. Stone can be crushed, granite can be crumbled. But people cannot be forced to cross their past out. Their dream of a friendship between the nations cannot be killed.
The veteran says: "Me, I was a soldier. I was bleeding. My hand was torn off, my stomach was torn apart. Two holes in my head, my leg was amputated. What was I fighting for? Tell me, mister colonel"
Even Frank Cohn, an American veteran of WWII, believes that "destroying monuments to old-tim friendship is silly".

Where is our "second front"? Why don't Ukrainians create partisan detachments to fight the junta?
I've come across the following line of thinking. Stalin was supporting socialist forces in Korea and China: their Red Army was created with the help of the Soviet Union, Moscow was providing both weapons and military advisers. Why doesn’t Russia today create some kind of a Ukrainian Revival Army out of local patriots, who are unhappy about the country's banderization?
Let's throw away all illusions. First, Korea and China had land borders with the USSR, which made military supplies possible. Today, Russia has no communication with Odessa or with the western regions of Ukraine. This makes it impossible to arrange supplies to any partisan units, even if they did appear in those areas. But in the current circumstances, there is no way they can appear.
Ukraine is not the same as it was 8 years ago, when it was still possible to hold demonstrations with Russian flags in Odessa, rallies for the Russian world in Kharkiv, or make speeches in support of Donbas in Zaporizhzhia.
Since that time, a repressive terror machine has been built here that mercilessly cracked down on any dissent. The most "popular" criminal code articles were "treason" and "assistance to terrorists." Ukrainian people were so intimidated that it became an act of heroism to get to the streets of Kyiv on May 9 with a portrait of one's grandfather, a WWII soldier.
Today, this repressive machine is working with enhanced power.
Donetsk People’s Republic’s Foreign Minister Natalya Nikanorova is compiling lists of new political prisoners in Ukraine. Following her suggestion, I posted an announcement on my Telegram channel. And stories of disappearances rained down on me…
