Korolev Crater footage

✨The Mars Express probe took images of the Korolev Crater, which is 82 kilometers across and located in the northern lowlands of Mars, just south of the large dune-filled area that surrounds part of the planet's northern polar cap (known as Olympia Undae).

It is a particularly well-preserved sample of a Martian crater; it is not filled with snow, but ice, with a year-round mound of water ice about 1.8 km thick at its center✨

Is there sound in space?

✔️ Sound is a physical phenomenon generated by the oscillating motion of gas/solid/fluid particles. Most commonly, in everyday life, we hear sound through gas, i.e. air. 
 
If one means a spaceship, which is filled with air, then, certainly, we will hear everything perfectly, but in open space there are no air molecules, so you can enjoy the silence. 

Only not for long, since your eardrums in outer space are ruptured due to the difference in pressure inside and outside (you may feel something similar in an airplane)✨

What occurs when a meteorite falls on the Moon?

Not as simple as you might think. The energy released from the impact melts its fragments, some of which cool down and may become small beads. 

Such "beads" were found in some quantities in the lunar soil samples brought back to Earth by the Apollo ships. 

The photo represents one of these beads enlarged to a realistic size of a quarter of a millimeter.

Where did the Earth get its magnetic field🌏?

✨Scientists have now concluded that the Earth's core is a huge electromagnet. Theories of the magnetic field's origin are plentiful. To me, the most convincing is the flow of currents in the liquid metal core (external).

The Earth's core is known to consist of two parts: a solid and inner core, which is under tremendous pressure and contains mostly iron and part of the molten outer part made of nickel, and all this substance of iron mixed with nickel is constantly in motion. 

The magnetic field is created by convective flows in the outer core. These flows are maintained by temperature differences between the solid inner core and the Earth's mantle✨

Meteorite of Sericho☄️

✨As it turned out, Eastern Kenya is home to hundreds of such meteorites. Locals sold a meteorite weighing 107 kg to a collector in 2017. Following that, the inhabitants were able to collect almost a ton of fragments for subsequent sale.

Sericho is a member of the pallasite class, which includes iron-nickel alloy and yellow crystals of the mineral olivine. Olivine accounts for up to 70% of the meteorite's bulk, with the remainder made up of iron, nickel, cobalt, and phosphorus.

Currently, the total weight of the discovered meteorite fragments exceeds 2800 kg✨

✨According to NASA and Copernicus, 2022 was the fifth-warmest year on record for the whole planet. The warmest 12 months on record were recorded in certain regions of the planet, including western Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, China, and northwestern Africa. Worse yet, according to new data from the world's leading climate monitoring agencies, polar regions continued to warm rapidly last year even as levels of warming greenhouse gases in the atmosphere reached all-time highs.

This week, NASA, the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the European Environment Monitoring Program Copernicus each released their own projections of how quickly the climate would change in 2022. These projections show an unabated rise in world average temperatures✨

The person who captured the satellite

✨This photograph, taken from the space shuttle Discovery in 1984, shows astronaut Dale Allan Gardner doing a spacewalk with a controlled maneuvering satchel.

To make it simpler to position the rotating Westar 6 satellite inside the shuttle, he connected a control device to it. Following that, the satellite was lowered to Earth aboard the shuttle and sold after being repaired✨

Radiation and Magnetic Field

✨The interaction of the Earth's magnetic field with the solar wind results in the formation of radiation belts (Van Allen belts), two rings of ionized gas trapped in orbit around the Earth by the magnetic field.
The outer radiation belt has altitudes ranging from 19,000 km to 41,000 km, while the inner radiation belt has altitudes ranging from 7,600 to 13,000 km.✨

World Record for Human Orbital Stay

✨Russian Astronaut Valeriy Polyakov holds the record for the longest space trip. He stayed aboard the Mir station for 437 days.
