Jupiter's polar lights

Jupiter has the most extensive magnetosphere with powerful radiation belts, allowing it to produce fireworks of auroras.

⚡️However, only space telescopes and orbiting spacecraft can see them, as their maximum value falls on the ultraviolet and infrared ranges.

Unlike our planet, where auroras depend on the activity of the Sun, on Jupiter they never stop and only vary in intensity

The Sun is getting brighter every year

Within 3.5 billion years its brightness is expected to increase by 40% and its radius will be 256 times larger than it is today.

Such a catastrophe leads to the complete disappearance of water from the surface of the Earth and ultimately destroys all forms of life.

By then, conditions on our planet will be similar to those on Venus today

The Great Dark Spot on Neptune

Its size is comparable to the size of Earth and resembles the Great Red Spot of Jupiter

It was discovered in 1989 by the Voyager 2 spacecraft. Both the Great Dark Spot of Neptune and the Great Red Spot of Jupiter are anticyclones.

Wind speeds reached supersonic speeds of 2,400 km/h around the spot, which was the highest in the entire Solar System. It is believed that the spot was a hole in the methane clouds of Neptune

The temperature "inside the lightning" can reach 30,000 kelvin

Yet one cannot claim that lightning is hotter than the Sun, as the layer of the luminary is the coldest one. The plasma inside the Sun attains a temperature of about 15 million kelvin, while the Sun's atmosphere is 500,000 kelvin

NASA has decided to extend the Ingenuity drone mission until September 2022!

The vehicle is currently making a series of flights toward the ancient Mars River Delta. Ingenuity will be used to conduct aerial reconnaissance and survey objects beyond the rover's reach

Young Mars featured a dense atmosphere and water resources💦

Why does the Moon "follow" us when we drive?

As we rush down the road, we notice how everything flies past us in the opposite direction: trees, houses, fences, the road. And from the Moon, too, we expect it to fly past us, or at least go backwards the farther forward we go. When it doesn't, we feel as if it is "following" us.

The Moon may not seem to be very far away from us, but the average distance from it to Earth is 384,400 km. This enormous distance explains why, when we drive a car and look at the Moon, it seems as if it is following us.

Compared to the distance our car travels in a few minutes, this distance is enormous. So as we drive, the angle at which we see the moon remains virtually unchanged. And while everything flies past us, there is a sense that the Moon is "following" us

Astronauts on the ISS watch 15-16 sunsets and sunrises every day😱

The International Space Station is about 220 km above Earth and travels at 27,700 km/h.

This means that it orbits every 92 minutes. Therefore, the astronauts on board see sunsets and sunrises every 45 minutes
