The Andromeda Galaxy is approaching the Milky Way at approximately 100 to 140 kilometres per second, but the distance so huge that it will take approximately 4.5 billion years for the Andromeda Galaxy and the Milky Way to collide and the result will be a giant elliptical galaxy.

The red giant Betelgeuse has a diameter larger than that of the Earth's orbit around the sun. In fact, if it were in place of our sun it would absorb all but the outermost portions of the asteroid belt.

750 light years from Earth. TrEs-2b is the darkest planet ever found. It is the size of Jupiter & even blacker than coal. It absorbs almost 100% of light that falls on it.
