In 2021, Judge Ellis ruled on a motion in the case that, “Plaintiffs have plausibly alleged that” Illinois law “conflicts with” and “and frustrates the NVRA’s purpose of providing voter information to the public to help ensure the accuracy and currency of voter registration rolls.” She also allowed a claim to proceed under the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, on the ground that political committees in Illinois can access copies of the voter registration database while ordinary citizens cannot. The claims were made against Illinois’ chief state elections official, Bernadette Matthews, the Acting Executive Director of the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Now lets do Indiana, Diego Morales. Allow Hoosiers equal protection and access to the SVRS that the politicial parties pay $5k for. Indiana is behind in this space.

But don’t worry, you can place your vote in a little Orange bag to be counted later. Trust us!

The special election is to decide a question known as “Issue 1”, Voters will write in whether to raise the threshold required to amend the Ohio Constitution.

Under the proposal, constitutional amendments would require the support of 60% of voters, rather than the simply majority currently needed. If approved, it would make it more difficult to amend the state constitution.

My opinion… vote YES on ISSUE 1

*Issue 1 is part of a fight culminating this November over a ballot measure that would enshrine abortion in the Ohio Constitution and limit parents’ legal right to consent to what procedures are done on their children; critics say the amendment would remove the parental notification requirement for minors who want to have an abortion or so-called sex-change operation.
