UPSC Prelims 2026 GS Paper appears to have been on the tougher side compared to recent years. The paper was lengthy, required more time for processing, and many questions felt unpredictable with a few seemingly random or slightly weird elements that did not fit neatly into the conventional patterns aspirants are generally accustomed to. UPSC once again reminded aspirants that preparation cannot be limited only to conventional sources or expected areas.

At the same time, remember one important thing — difficulty affects everyone equally. A tougher paper generally means a lower average score across candidates. If the paper felt difficult to you, it most likely felt difficult to thousands of others as well. So avoid judging your performance based on assumptions or social media reactions immediately after the exam.

Cut-off may come down, but there is no need to start calculating everything right now. Give yourself some rest today.

Regards,
Team InclusiveIAS

UPSC Prelims 2026 Question
We were standing near the target — UPSC just zoomed in with binoculars. 😄
(Simulator 7 vs UPSC Prelims 2026 😄)

We were clearly expecting a question around Armed Forces headquarters and command structures. Our Simulator tested Command Headquarters, but UPSC decided to zoom in one level further and asked about Corps Headquarters.

Same battlefield, sharper coordinates. 🎯
