In 5 years, a young person's first financial account won't be a broker or an exchange. It'll be a prediction market.
I interviewed 40–50 regular people face to face. Almost all said the same: they'd rather answer YES/NO on topics they already know—music, politics, or their own industry—than learn a new discipline before making their first financial decision.
The data agrees:
• Monthly volume: <$5B (Sep 2025) → $44.8B (Jun 2026)
• 32% of Gen Z are already in or considering prediction markets—more than any other generation.
• 70% of teens want to invest. The next wave is already forming.
The barrier to finance was never intelligence. It was translation.
Prediction markets remove that barrier by meeting people where their knowledge already exists.
My assumption:
Within the next 3–5 years, 20–25% of people aged 18–25 will enter finance through a prediction market first, then later move into stocks and crypto.
That's not an aggressive prediction.
Today, 32% of US Gen Z are already participating in or considering prediction markets.
Analysts such as Bernstein and Bank of America project approximately $1T in annual trading volume by 2030.
My view goes further.
By 2031, around 625 million people currently aged 13–17 will have reached adulthood.
If 135–200 million of them enter financial markets, and 25–30% begin through prediction markets, that represents roughly 7–12 million new first-time users every year, or 30–50 million cumulatively.
Revenue projections also support the trend:
• $0.4B (2025)
• $2.5B (2026)
• $10.8B (2030 est.)
That's a 27× growth curve in just five years.
My valuation:
$1.3–1.5T+ by 2031.
