In DeFi, liquidity providers play a vital role by contributing their assets to liquidity pools, enabling users to trade between different tokens seamlessly.
π° In the conventional or regular model, liquidity providers are expected to contribute assets in a balanced manner. For instance, if someone wishes to provide liquidity for a trading pair like ETH/USDC, they would typically add an equal value of ETH and USDC to the pool. This practice ensures that the pool maintains a constant 50/50 ratio of these two assets. On the other hand, concentrated liquidity introduces a different paradigm. With concentrated liquidity, liquidity providers have the freedom to add assets to a pool in an imbalanced or concentrated fashion. In essence, they can allocate a significant proportion of their assets to one side of the pool, while allocating a smaller portion to the other side.
