GitHub X IIT Madras BSc

The Student Executive Council is excited to bring you "GitHub X IIT Madras BSc" - a one-day workshop followed by a portfolio building contest sponsored by GitHub! on 19th December 2021.

The workshop is split into two sessions - Forenoon and Afternoon.

Forenoon:
This session will explore Open Source, Git and GitHub. As a bonus!, Arkodyuti Saha - one of the DevRels at GitHub will be there to introduce you to the platform followed by a Fireside Chat on Open Source with one of our fellow students Satyam Prakash who recently won the IBM Call for Code Challenge as a part of Saaf Water.

Afternoon:
In the second half of the workshop, we will get a feel for GitHub commands and then get hands on with the GitHub Student Pack, You will claim a .me domain, set up GitHub Pages and build your portfolio site at yourname.me !

The host will be giving out a total of 5 🎁 GitHub Swag Packs during the sessions. Keep that interaction going to boost your chances of grabbing a pack!.

Contest:
You will use your newly acquired portfolio building skills to build and perfect your own portfolio site post the end of the workshop. Submissions will open up at 19th December 2021 5PM and close 48 hours after that.
All the participants who clear the basics checklist will get certificates and the Top 10 Sites will get 🎁 GitHub Swag Packs shipped to them!
