The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched its 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 (𝐎𝐏𝐌𝐒) to facilitate the online submission of project reports, dissertations, internship reports, field work and other prescribed academic assignments.



The system was formally launched by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐔𝐦𝐚 𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐣𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐥, 𝐇𝐨𝐧’𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐫, 𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐎𝐔, marking another step towards strengthening the University’s digital academic services and streamlining student evaluation processes.



Developed by the 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐒𝐄𝐃), 𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐎𝐔, 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐆-𝐍 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐇, OPMS provides a structured digital platform for academic submissions. Integrated with the 𝐒𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐇 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐥, it allows learners to access the submission facility using their existing student login credentials.



The system incorporates features to safeguard the integrity of submitted documents, including the automatic insertion of relevant student and submission details on each page of the uploaded report.



The launch programme commenced with a welcome address by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐉𝐚𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚, 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐫, Student Evaluation Division, IGNOU, followed by the Vice Chancellor’s address.𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐒𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐯𝐚, Additional Director, SED, IGNOU, demonstrated the student submission module. Representatives of 𝐁𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐆-𝐍 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐇 also highlighted the importance of technological collaboration in advancing digital solutions for higher education.



The initiative reflects IGNOU’s continued commitment to leveraging technology to enhance learner services, improve administrative efficiency and strengthen academic evaluation processes across its 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐎𝐃𝐋) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐎𝐋)

programmes.
