Nowadays, parents put a lot of pressure on their children to succeed. What are the reasons? Is it positive or negative development? #tasktwo
It is believed that the extent of parental pressure on juniors’ success is on the rise nowadays. I think the driving reasons behind this change include educational opportunities and parents’ unfulfilled aspirations. At the same time, it is an undesirable change for children.

Parents may have several reasons to pressurize to their children’s early success. One obvious reason is that the youth may have better opportunities in terms of their education. This is to mean, the increased competitiveness during the admission exams of universities and colleagues may urge parents to start dedicating much more time and energy to what kind of achievements that their kids can have. These successful experiences either at a primary or high school level may include good academic performances in various subjects, which can assist them in further stages of education, including the earlier mentioned exams.

Another reason for this high pressure can be unattained dreams of parents. Majority of them would like their children to follow the dreamed path of life that parents once desired to have. Imposing high expectations to children’s success may be seen as a way to fulfill those dreams perfectly.

Considering the futuristic effects of this trend, it is likely to bring more drawbacks, I think. The first sound disadvantage is that children could be deprived of experiencing and encountering difficulties of life on themselves. The more parents put pressure on juniors, the fewer independent decisions they can make. Consequently, having followed all of parent’s orders and spent much time for their dreams, inexperienced children may find it difficult to have a job in an organization. This can also lead to job and life dissatisfaction in the future.

Furthermore, increased stress and anxiety is the second hazardous effect of heightened pressure to a child. If this excessive pressure continues for a long time, parents may be held to account for different health problems, which can be witnessed in the form of headache, stomachache and trouble sleeping. Hence, children may start to show weaker resilience to any stressful happenings in their life.

In conclusion, while the reasons for constant pressure from parents may range from enhancing the chances of better education for children and attaining childhood dreams, I think this development is of more negative impacts , such as the lack of decision-making skills and tolerance to anxiety and stress.
