First air taxi flights in S'pore to take scenic route around Marina Bay if approved

If all goes to plan, Volocopter's maiden commercial flight here will take passengers from a take-off and landing area in Marina South to the Marina Reservoir and back, going over the Marina Barrage and the Benjamin Sheares Bridge at an altitude of 100m to 150m.

The journey, which will also take in parts of Kallang Basin near Tanjong Rhu, will last about 15 minutes.

"Why a tourist flight? Because to be quite transparent, Singapore does not have a congestion problem on the ground, but you have around 20 million visitors per year who want to have excitement, an experience.

In 2019, before the Covid-19 pandemic struck, 19.1 million travellers visited Singapore, spending close to $28 billion.

What is Virtual Office?

It is a common question when our potential clients approach us for the first time, “Should I move to Singapore to set up a company?”

The quick answer to that question is you don’t need to, it is common for companies in Singapore to use virtual offices when they incorporate the company for the first time. It is a much cheaper and faster solution to kickstart your business up and running. almost instantly.

A virtual office may include all the amenities employees might find at an actual office, including desks and printers. Here are a few common elements of a virtual office:

Physical mailing addresses
Some virtual offices may provide a mailing address that businesses can use to send and receive mail.

Conference rooms
Virtual offices may have conference rooms that employees reserve in advance for meetings and events.

Receptionist services
Some virtual offices have receptionists who can answer your private phone line and redirect calls as needed.

Software
Virtual offices may have shared computers with up-to-date software installed, like word processing tools or graphic design programs.

Furniture
Some virtual offices have furniture such as desks, chairs and large tables for group meetings.

“The new MOU seeks to build on these areas of collaboration by focusing on mobilising investment, financing, management skills, and technologies - available from the Singapore public and private sectors - for private sector development projects in ADB developing member countries,” said MOF.

The bank and Singapore will cooperate in promoting the use of new technology and processes in areas such as developing liveable cities, addressing climate change challenges and utilising financial technology to improve financial market efficiency.

Singapore was a founding member of the ADB when the bank was established in 1966. It borrowed from ADB until 1980 and formally graduated from borrowing in 1998.

Since 2001, Singapore has contributed to ADB’s concessional fund, the Asian Development Fund, as well as the Technical Assistance Special Fund. Singapore is also a participant in the ASEAN Infrastructure Fund which is supported by ADB.

Using Singapore as a stepping stone to Asean

The city-state’s long-standing reputation for having a stable and neutral government and economy helps to put minds at ease, especially in the wake of recent geopolitical tensions.

Aside from tapping Singapore’s infrastructure and resources, companies also see Singapore as a strategic location to access opportunities across South-east Asia.

A total of US$185 billion in foreign direct investment flowed into the region last year, a 35 per cent increase compared to 2020, according to Tan Bin Eng, partner of business incentives advisory at Ernst and Young Solutions.
